FEATURES: An original! Two unusual canyons and breathtaking overlooks. This trail
maneuvers through only one of a few of Sedona's
natural passes which connects these marvelous canyons.
LEVEL: Moderate exertion but a long hike.
HIKING TIME: Approximately six hours roundtrip.
DRIVING TIME FROM THE INTERSECTION OF 89A AND SR 179: About twenty minutes.
DESCRIPTION: This is an original hike that
utilizes some Forest Service trails and involves a
little bushwacking. It leaves an official Forest Service parking area then it follows a wash for about a mile, intersects another trail that winds through a wilderness canyon, crosses through a mountain pass into another wilderness canyon and then returns back to the parking area where it all began. I was tempted not to give this one away; it is a personal favorite of favorites. Note: since this trail utilizes a wash which is active after or during a rain-- don't hike it then unless you are wearing waders, are heavily insured and are particularly stupid.
