FEATURES: Panoramic views.
LEVEL: Difficult
HIKING TIME: Approximately 6 hours roundtrip.
DRIVING TIME FROM THE INTERSECTION OF 89A AND SR 179: About
20 minutes
DESCRIPTION: On the way up this is a
steep trail with breathtaking views to the east.
Once the hiker has reached the first plateau
this photo hiking guide shows the way to several
overlooks that are not on any Forest Service map
or guide (for that matter these overlooks are
not listed on any guide other than this one).
From these overlooks the hiker will find a
plethora of vistas. Then once the hiker has
reached the top plateau he will not regret the
effort it took. From there the snow-capped
peak of Arizona's highest point can be seen--40
miles away towering above the horizon at over
12,000 feet.
